Brief Overview of the Madison Society Foundation

Col Virgil McVicker, USA and several likeminded patriots saw the need for an organization dedicated to the ideals of our founding fathers so in 1996 the Support Madison Society Foundation Inc. was founded as a non-partisan, non-political organization focusing on Second Amendment rights and litigation.  In 2001the Madison Society Foundation was granted (501)(c)(3) designation by the US government.

That began the non-profit foundation, with the simple goal of spreading awareness of gun control and your Second Amendment rights. Since then, and with the support and approval of our local Sheriffs we started to teach Concealed Carry Weapon classes and recommend certification for Concealed Carry Weapons Permits for several different California agencies as well as the state of Utah.  In an effort to continue to support litigation we hold non-partisan fund raising events and accept donations and membership throughout the year.  That membership extends from the applicant to all family members living at that address.

When we learn of a case against what we believe is the letter and spirit of the Second Amendment we take action.  Our board looks for others challenging the case and work with them by filing Amicus Briefs in support of action against the case.  These briefs are only possible from our membership dues and donations which are all tax deductible.

The Madison Society Foundation was founded and continues as a non-partisan organization with one exception.  We do recognize and honor the members of the military and law enforcement, retirees and veterans and offer support, and information as appropriate.  For more than 200 years they have defended our rights and we give them the honor they are due.  Out of the many members who are veterans, several members are available as a resource to support our veterans and reduce the number of Veteran suicides the nation continues to experience.  One is too many.

Our Objective

The mission and objective of the foundation are to serve and protect the citizens of the United States and provide Gun control awareness. We move ahead with the goal of defending their constitutional and civil rights as defined in the Bill of Rights Second Amendment, wherein, "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
